On Friday we went to the Harvard Museum of Natural History. (Dad wanted to say Harvard is the second best school in Cambridge). We are sitting in front of the museum doors.
Straight up the stairs after you enter the building is a skeleton of a Moa. It was a huge flightless bird that went extinct in the 1700's.
This was a fossil of Deinonychus in the dinosaur exhibit. It's name means terrible claws. Joseph had just watched a Dinosaur Train on Deinonychus so he made a big deal of it.

While we were there, Jeffrey was asked to be a model in some publicity shots for a new exhibit. Maybe he'll be on a poster!

This is a picture of a right whale's rib cage. The entire skeleton was suspended from the ceiling.

The most famous part of the museum is the Glass Flower exhibit. All of the flowers look like real flowers but they're really made out of glass. Back when these were made, they were used as models for the students to study. They didn't have plastic back then, so they were made out of glass. I didn't find them very interesting but my mom and brother did.
It's pretty amazing how realistic they are.
There was a mineral exhibit that had pyrite, gold, amethysts, sulphur, meteorites, aquamarines, rose quartz, milk quartz, etc.
This is a chunk of magnetite.
After the museum, we went to feed our meter and then waited for dad. We found some maple keys and helicoptered them.
When dad came, we went to the airport to drop off mom. She was going to Minneapolis to go to Uncle Dan's graduation from medical school.
